SCFE End of Year Events

Exhibition, Competition and Showcase Events

As the academic year ends in Sallynoggin College of Further Education, students will again this year have the opportunity to display a wide range of skills and talents. The end of year student showcase events include the Art, Craft, Design and Photography Exhibition, the National Student Floristry Competition and the Fashion Design Show and Dance Performance.

Students of Art, Craft, Design and Photography will exhibit their work on Tuesday, May 4^th in the Main Concourse, County Hall Dún Laoghaire. The exhibition will be officially opened at 6.30pm by the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Mary Hanafin, TD. It will run until Friday, May 7^th.
 
The annual National Student Floristry Competition will take place in the College on Monday, May 17^th. This competition provides an opportunity for Floristry students to showcase their design skills and talents in a national student forum and will consist of two categories. One category for current full-time students and one for those who already hold a FETAC Level 5 in Floristry.

The competition will take plae in the College from 2.00-5.00pm, with adjudication by a nationally-known Floristry Judge. There will be prizes for 1^st and 2^nd place in each category and the winnners will be announced at 7.00pm. Family, friends and well-wishers are all welcome to come along at 7.00pm to support their budding florists and to view the wonderful display of completed pieces on show.

Fashion Design Showcase. This year Fashion Design students will present their end of year collections on Tuesday May 25^th in the Pavilion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire. Tickets are available from the Pavilion Theatre, box office open daily from 10.00am to 6.00pm.

The Sallynoggin College Dance Performance will take place in the Pavilion Theatre Dún Laoghaire on Wednesday, May 26^th at 8.00pm. Tickets are available from the box office. The exhibition will showcase student talent and skills in a range of dance genres including classical ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary and musical theatre.
