SCFE Graduate Scoops Prestigious World Press Photography Prize

Congratulations to former Sallynoggin College photography student Pat Murphy, who recently scooped second prize in the Sports Action section of the World Press Photo Competition, for his picture taken at Punchestown in April 2009. This is the world’s largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest, attracting in excess of 100,000 entries annually. Prize-winning photos are assembled into a travelling exhibition, which is visited by over 2 million people in 45 countries worldwide, and a yearbook of prize-winning entries is published annually in 6 languages.

Since completing the Photography course in Sallynoggin College, Pat has worked for Sportsfile, a leading Irish sports photography agency.
