Workplace Education

What does Workplace Education entail?

Dún Laoghaire VEC has been engaged in the provision of workplace education programmes since 2002.

We can tailor courses to suit your needs or deliver pre-designed programmes. Programmes may be offered:

  • On or off-site
  • During the day, evening or over weekends
  • With or without accreditation

We are very experienced in supporting employees who are comfortable in a learning environment as well as those who may feel concern in such a setting. The way in which we develop skills ensures they are easily transferable to the workplace. We have the necessary experience and expertise to help you to meet your goals.

Dún Laoghaire VEC delivers a range of workplace education programmes in partnership with a number of agencies/companies. Examples of these programmes include:

Employers' comments

It's an excellent opportunity for staff to improve and learn.

Since the programme started I have seen a marked improvement in participants' confidence and a willingness to get involved in day to day activities.

Very impressed with how it's all run, it's great!

Participants' comments

We met as strangers and left as friends.

You just never know when you walk in that door on day one where it's going to lead!

I feel I would be able to go for promotion now whereas I wouldn't have felt that before the course.

How do I arrange a Workplace Education programme through Dún Laoghaire VEC?

  • Contact the Dún Laoghaire VEC Workplace Education Co-ordinator, Teresa McHale.
  • Arrange an exploratory meeting to discuss the needs of your organisation and to explore the options available to best meet those needs.
  • A programme plan will be devised for discussion.  That plan will include course content, delivery modes, duration, location, accreditation and cost.
  • Our Workplace Education Co-ordinator can also meet individual employees to establish their needs and to address any concerns they may have about embarking on the programme.
  • All of our programmes are carefully monitored and fully evaluated to ensure that we meet the highest possible standards of provision and to ensure compliance with FETAC Quality Assurance.
  • A dedicated programme co-ordinator is appointed to the employing organisation from the initial development period and for the full duration of the programme.
  • Government funding may be available for part or all of these programmes.
