Community Education Service

Who are we?

The Community Education Service supports a wide range of learning and education opportunities for community-based groups throughout the Dún Laoghaire area.

Programmes offered are flexible, accessible and developed in response to identified needs acknowledging the benefit of lifelong learning both to the individual and their community. Working in partnership with a range of community, voluntary and interagency groups is integral to the delivery of the Community Education Service

The aim of the Service is to offer learning opportunities that

  • Build and develop skills and talents for individuals, families and communities
  • Respond to the needs of local groups and their communities
  • Value all learners
  • Take place in familiar, friendly and local settings
  • Offer an informal, flexible learning environment and the opportunity to meet new people that share a common purpose
  • Integrate with other strands of the service such as guidance, literacy and BTEI
