Dún Laoghaire VEC works in co-operation with other education providers to deliver a diverse range of education and support services to the area. The VEC is represented on various local and national bodies and has responsibility for:
Dún Laoghaire VEC is unique among the 33 VECs in Ireland in that its Colleges are dedicated to Further Education provision. It is also one of only two VECs in the country that provides apprenticeship courses.
Currently, Dún Laoghaire VEC has 2,200 full-time learners and approximately 4,000 part-time learners including Apprentices. It employs 500 staff and has an annual budget of €18 million.
The three core support functions of Head Office are collectively overseen and managed by the Chief Executive Officer who reports to the Vocational Education Committee on a monthly basis. These services are managed on a day-to-day basis by a Head of Division:
